Dr. Farag was born in Alexandria, Egypt. He grew up in Australia and graduated from the University of Melbourne, Faculty of Medicine. He earned a PhD from the same university and completed additional training in Hematology and Medical Oncology. Dr. Farag is currently the Kenneth Wiseman Professor of Medicine at Indiana University. He is also the Director of Blood and Marrow Transplantation and Immune Cell Therapy at Indiana Univeristy. Dr. Farag research focuses on novel approaches for the prevention of graft-versus-host disease and on the safety of blood and marrow transplantation.
