Born in Qamishli, Syria, Dr. Hanna received his MD from Aleppo University. He then moved to the USA where he completed residency in Pediatrics at Duke University and Pediatric Hematology and Medical Oncology and Blood and Marrow Transplant fellowship at University of Washington and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. Dr. Hanna founded the Pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplantation Program at Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Hanna is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Case Western Reserve University and Chair of Pediatric Hematology and Medical Oncology at Cleveland Clinic. His clinical focus is on transplant for non-malignant disorders such as hemoglobinopathies, inherited bone marrow failure and immune dysregulation disorders.
